What parent coaching works on

  • Mornings, homework, screens, bedtime — the recurring flashpoints
  • Meltdowns: what to do before, during and after
  • Sibling conflict that has become a household weather system
  • Two parents with different instincts undermining each other without meaning to
  • Backing off accommodation of an anxious child without abandoning them

You can start before your child is ready, or when you’re not sure what to do next.

Parent coaching works when your child refuses therapy, or when you are not sure they need therapy at all.

Because how you respond matters. Parent coaching can help you feel more confident in the moments that matter, and can lead to real change for your child.

Format

Short and practical — often six to ten sessions, parents only, with things to try between sessions. Many families do this instead of bringing the child into therapy, and it works.

Questions

What people ask

Does my child need to come?

Usually not. The work is with you, and many families start here without bringing their child in.

Can both parents attend if we are separated?

Yes, together or separately. Co-parenting work is a normal part of this.

What if my child refuses to see anyone?

That is one of the most common reasons parents start here. You can begin without them.
