Couples Therapy for Jersey City Couples
For a lot of Jersey City couples, Manhattan is where the work week happens and home is where the relationship has to fit in after. We make therapy fit the same way: a session in Midtown on the way home, a few minutes from the PATH.
From Jersey City to our office
The PATH from Journal Square, Grove Street or Newport runs to 33rd Street at Herald Square. Our office at 352 7th Ave is about a six-minute walk from there — easy to reach at the end of a Midtown work day.
Couples therapy for New Jersey residents happens in person at the Midtown office. Our couples therapist is licensed in New York, with New Jersey licensure in progress, so video sessions from home in New Jersey are not available yet — sessions you join while you are in New York, such as from a Manhattan office, are.

How the work runs
Couples therapy with Terese D., LMFT-LP: an assessment over the first two or three sessions, then focused work on the pattern between you, drawing on Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman method. 60 minutes is $240, 75 minutes is $300. Out-of-network with every insurer; we file out-of-network claims on your behalf where your plan accepts them.

Can we do couples therapy by video from Jersey City?
Not yet. Our couples therapist is licensed in New York, with New Jersey licensure in progress, so couples sessions take place at the Midtown office, or by video while you are in New York.
Do you have a New Jersey office?
Yes, in Maplewood (Essex County), where Dr. Dana Rhule sees children, teens and families. Couples therapy is at the Midtown office.
Do you take insurance?
We are out-of-network. Where your plan accepts out-of-network claims and you elect it, we file on your behalf; otherwise we provide superbills.
